A one day workshop where delegates can learn about recent innovative topics relevant to management of Massive Obstetric Haemorrhage (MOH). This is combined with a hands-on workshop with practical clinical tips from world known experts on uterine compression sutures and balloon tamponade. 

After attending the meeting, you will:

  • Understand rationale behind visual assessment of MOH and crucial interventions such as compression sutures and tamponade
  • Understand the extended role of ultrasonography in acute management of MOH
  • Learn about selective devascularisation techniques such as internal iliac ligation
  • Appreciate new developments relevant to MOH management such as tranexamic acid
  • Develop understanding of medicolegal aspects of managing MOH
  • Hands on stations on compression sutures, balloon tamponade, EBL etc
  • Complements the Labour Ward Lead ATSM for senior trainees
