Management of Multiple Pregnancy

Start: 09/09/2019 09:00
End: 09/09/2019 17:00

Location: RCOG
Programme: Management of Multiple Pregnancy 2019.pdf

The incidence of multiple pregnancy is rising, secondary to the use of assisted reproductive techniques. Multiple pregnancy is associated with increased maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity. More than half of multiple pregnancies deliver before 37 weeks’ gestation. Many clinicians who are confident when managing complicated singleton pregnancies feel uneasy caring for women with multiple pregnancy.

A survey has shown that the level of familiarity with the NICE guideline on “Antenatal Management of Multiple Pregnancy” is poor and implementation suboptimal. It will provide a comprehensive update on the management of multiple pregnancy and all sessions will have dedicated time for audience interaction.

The update of the NICE multiple pregnancy guideline is planned on the 4 September 2019, and its recommendations will be presented at the RCOG meeting.
