This is a unique last-minute lecture course with videos and live demonstration structured discussions and simulated patient tasks that will enable delegates to understand the principles that underpin the MRCOG Part 3 Clinical Skills Assessment oral examination. 

This final preparation course is held on the Friday before the RCOG MRCOG Part 3 exam and is ideally suited for those from the UK and abroad who want an exam refresher before the examination day. 

The inaugural course last year realised a delegate pass rate of 87.4%. The pass rate for those candidates who did not do either of the RCOG MRCOG Part 3 courses was 61%. 

Registration will open at 12:30 (UK time) on Monday 27 March 2017, the day the Part 2 Exam results are published.

  • Describe the structure and format of the MRCOG Part 3 examination
  • Reproduce the components parts of the blueprint matrix of the MRCOG Part 3 examination

  • Relate the five clinical skills domains to clinical situations from the 14 modules of the Part 3 syllabus at an ST5 level of trainee competence
  • Discern and analyse the differences between pass and fail task performances

How do I register?

How can I pay?

You need to pay at the time of booking using a debit or credit card. 

How long is the course?

The Understanding the Principles of the Part 3 Clinical Assessment courseis one day lecture based course. 

How will I know if I have received a place on the course?

Once you have registered for the course online you will receive an email confirming your place within 5 working days. 

Can I book online?

Yes, the online registration will open on Monday 27 March 2017 at 12:30 (UK time) for this course.We will only accept bookings by telephone if you are registering for both Part 3 courses at the same time. 

Is there a discount for registering for both MRCOG Final Preparation courses?

Yes, if you book for the Clinical Skills Course and the Clinical Assessment Course you will receive a discount of £30 off the total price. To qualify for the discount you must register for both courses together. Discount will not apply if you register separately for each course. 

Can I cancel my understanding the principles registration, even though I have already paid the fees?

Cancellations must be received in writing by Friday 21 April 2017 and be accompanied by a copy of your confirmation email and receipt. An administrative charge of £50 per course will be made on all cancellations received before or on the above date. We regret the College cannot refund fees after the above date. No refunds will be made for non-attendance on the course 

What if I’ve paid for both courses but wish to cancel one?

As long as you are within the cancellation period for the course you are cancelling, you will receive a refund for the cancelled course, minus the £30 discount and a £50 administrative charge. Your cancellation request must be received in writing. 

Can I send a colleague in my place if I’m unable to attend?

Yes, if you are unable to attend after registering, you can send a colleague in your place but you must notify us in writing and include your colleagues contact details.

MRCOG Final Preparation: Part 3 Clinical Skills Course

Monday 24 – Friday 28 April 2017 

This one day course which is repeated over 5 days are strictly limited to 30 places per day 

This Part 3 Clinical Skills Course will give delegates a unique opportunity to practise and rehearse the clinical tasks set down in the new MRCOG Part 3 oral examination. There will be a 15 station circuit where you will receive individual feedback on each station from the examiners, some of which will also use professional role players and lay examiners. 

The other half of the day there will be workshop-based sessions incorporating communication skills, examples of pass and fail performances and assessment template exercises. Exposure to these activities will help delegates reflect on individual strengths and identify areas for improvement and further practise.
