Overview

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the PROMPT Maternity Foundation (PMF) are working together to improve awareness and facilitate the distribution of obstetric emergencies training as widely as possible.

PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) is a multi-professional obstetric emergencies training package that has been developed by PMF for use in local maternity units with the aim of reducing preventable harm to mothers and their babies.

This training package consists of interactive drills and workshops that provide “hands-on” experience of practical skills and decision-making in simulated obstetric emergency situations.

Day One – Demonstration PROMPT 2 Course Demonstration of local multi-professional obstetric emergencies training
Day Two – PROMPT 2, Train the Trainers Day Guidance in how to use the PROMPT 2 ‘Course in a Box’ training materials

The fees include:

  • Provision of the PROMPT 2 ‘Course in a Box’ containing: Participants Course manuals, Trainer’s manuals, DVD of lectures and multi-media
  • Training for up to 4 multi-professional members of staff from each unit to facilitate the implementation of PROMPT Courses in their own maternity unit

Course fees

  • Early Booking Rate: £4000* per team (of 4) if registered by 19 August 2015
  • Standard Rate: £6000* per team (of 4) for all registrations received after 19 August 2015

This fee includes:

  • Provision of the PROMPT ‘Course in a Box’ containing: Participants course manuals, Trainer’s manual, CD Rom of lectures and multi-media
  • Training for up to 4 multi-professional members of staff from each unit to facilitate the implementation of the PROMPT course in their own maternity unit
  • Telephone support when setting up the course ‘in-house'

*Please note: any hospital/unit can send more than 1 team, but will be charged in multiples of the fee, e.g. if the original fee is £4000 and you wish to send 2 teams the charge will be £8000, 3 teams £12000* etc.

How to book

Please register using the postal registration form, one per delegate. These can be returned by fax to +44 20 7772 6388 or emailed to kcollings@rcog.org.uk.

To be invoiced, you need to complete the registration forms and send it along with a headed letter from you organisation/trust. This letter should contain the following information and will only be accepted if it is on official trust headed paper

  • Purchase order number (if applicable)
  • Name of event
  • Name of delegate attending the event
  • Invoice amount
  • Invoicing address
  • Name, telephone and email of the person the invoice should be sent to

Please note: Unfortunately we are unable to accept invoice requests three weeks before the event, this is due to the time it takes to process invoices. All invoices must be paid by the event date in order for the delegates to attend, if payment has not been received by this date the delegates will be asked for payment on arrival at the venue.
