Cardiac Disease and Pregnancy (Good Practice No. 13)

Published: 22/06/2011

This is the first edition of this guidance.

Cardiac disease is a leading cause of maternal death in pregnancy in many developed countries, including the UK. However, there is a lack of evidence-based guidelines to assist in planning the management of affected pregnancies.

The purpose of this Good Practice guidance is to provide a summary of current expert opinion as an interim measure, with the hope that these opinions will be supplemented by objective evidence in due course.
