Parliament Week, 15–21 November 2013

Parliament Week is a national week of events to engage, inform and inspire people about engaging with democracy, in particular parliamentary democracy. One of the themes of the week is ‘Women in Democracy’.

The RCOG is contributing to the week of events with a virtual display of material relating to three women who were Fellows of the College, who contributed not only to College activities but to national developments in obstetrics and gynaecology, and earned themselves seats in the House of the Lords through their contributions. This recognition of their achievements is celebrated in the display, inspiring a new generation of women to raise their voices in support of important issues in the specialty.

Find out more information about these women below.
