The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in line with current guidance issued by Public Health England, NHS England and the Department of Health; recommends that all pregnant women have the flu vaccine when offered by their midwives. This year’s flu programme commences across the UK from Monday 6 October.
There are several benefits to receiving the vaccine, including protection for both mothers and their babies and avoiding the complications that arise from the flu.
If you are pregnant, speak to your midwife or GP about the vaccination.
