The present demographic changes within the population of the UK and increase in long-term conditions place additional stress on the NHS. The House of Lords is conducting an inquiry into the long-term sustainability of the NHS over the next 15-20 years.
The Committee will be chaired by Lord Naren Patel. Areas which the Committee will focus on are:
- Resources including funding, productivity and demand management
- Workforce supply, retention and skills
- Service delivery models and integration
- Prevention and public engagement
- Innovation, data and informatics
