Mumsnet have published their revised Miscarriage Code of Care today along with the findings of their recent survey on NHS miscarriage services.
Current financial pressures on the NHS mean that services everywhere are being rationalised. Similarly, costs and workloads are increasing.
A Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) spokesperson said, “Early pregnancy assessment services help diagnose problems for women experiencing complications during pregnancy and NICE guidelines state that there should be seven-day provision so that women-centred care can be provided.
“Miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy can be a devastating loss. Women and their families need to be supported through the physical and emotional process.”
