The 69th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations meets this week.
On the agenda include: women in development (23c), the advancement of women (27a-b), the promotion and protection of human rights (63-68) and global health and foreign policy (124).
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), along with partners the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), have issued a joint statement on how professional health bodies can assist in international efforts to reduce global maternal mortality.
