The RCOG is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the Investors in People Silver Standard.
Investors in People sets standards for people management which aim to drive better leadership and better workplaces. The RCOG’s first steps to Investors in People recognition came in 2013, and, after working through the improvement steps, the College was reviewed and awarded Bronze Standard in 2015. The IIP working group was set up to work through the recommendations at the time and support the RCOG to maintain and improve its standard.
The College was again reviewed between October and November 2018. This involved one-to-one meetings with selected staff and Executive Directors, and an all-staff survey. The feedback was really very positive, with the reviewer commenting that overall staff satisfaction, as she perceived it, was high. As a result of her findings, we were awarded the Silver Standard.
The award is a fitting external recognition of the environment and culture to which all staff have contributed. It provides us with a framework for constantly improving and keeping ahead in terms of People Management effectiveness.
A big thank you to everyone who took part in the 2018 Investors in People review. The reviewer was complimentary of our inclusive approach to managing the investors in people process as well as the engagement levels of the staff.
We will soon share the full Investors in People report and recommendations with you, and with the support of the People Team, the Investors in People working group and all RCOG staff, we will continue to positively shape the RCOG to further improve healthcare for girls, women and families in the UK and around the world.
