The period from 2025 to 2030 marks a defining chapter for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as we work towards our centenary and reaffirm our commitment to advancing the health and rights of women and girls worldwide.

In an era of profound global change, marked by demographic shifts, technological transformation and persistent health inequalities, the RCOG will leverage the expertise of its Fellows and Members, and the experiences of the women they support, to be a catalyst for progress.

To maximise impact, the RCOG must continue to grow its membership across the world and refocus on its core mission: education, setting standards for O&G, and advocating for women’s health and for the profession. Ensuring the alignment of resources to our priorities will be essential to maintaining the high quality and reach of our outputs in each of these areas.

Our work will be underpinned by a commitment to equity, collaboration and impact, and we will ensure diverse, representative women’s voices inform the breadth of the College’s core business activities.

We recognise the invaluable contributions of our 2,200 clinical volunteers and will work tirelessly to sustain their engagement and leadership. Equally, recognising the changing landscape of service delivery both in the UK and globally, we will continue to make wellbeing a priority for our Members; the future must be one where our healthcare professionals are supported, valued and empowered. Maternity services in the United Kingdom are under extreme pressure, significantly impacting families and Members. The College will maintain a strong focus on supporting improvements in maternity safety across our education, training and clinical guidance programmes. With partners, we will continue to lobby for sufficient long-term government investment, vital to improving maternity workforce recruitment, retention and morale, and eliminating maternal and neonatal health inequalities.

Globally, there is a growing need for innovation to improve accessibility, efficiency and outcomes, and reduce inequalities in O&G services. The RCOG will be at the forefront of the innovation landscape, fostering an environment for progress in women’s health that is clinically led and women-centred.

As we navigate the next five years to our centenary, the RCOG’s strategy must address global health challenges, societal shifts and workforce dynamics, ensuring the organisation advocates for our Members and remains a trusted leader in advancing women’s healthcare worldwide.

By 2030, the RCOG will be recognised not only as a global leader in clinical standards and education, but also as a driving force for innovation, advocacy and social justice in women’s health.
