Concessions and special circumstances

How the College deals with requests for concessions or special circumstances with regard to membership subscription fees.

Reduced fee for Member elects

The College recognises the hardship and financial pressures on newly qualified Members. For this reason, new Members benefit from a reduced annual subscription for the first 2 years of membership if resident in the UK* or Republic of Ireland.

The reduced subscription is based on a 20% discount on the full UK membership rate.

Please note: The discount will only be available for the first 2 years of membership.

UK* and ROI Member elects

The requirements are:

  • You must be resident in the UK* or Republic of Ireland
  • You must still be training
  • You must have a UK bank account with the facility to set up a Direct Debit

*UK includes those resident in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Gibraltar and HM British Armed Forces

To receive this rate you’ll be directed to pay your first subscription instalment fee by credit/debit card or cheque. Subsequent payments will be collected via Direct Debit.

Subsequent instalments by Direct Debit £120.00 x 3

New Members working less than full time (LTFT)

If you are a new Member within your first 2 years of membership and working the equivalent of less than a full time role you may be eligible for a further discount in addition to the discounted annual fee.

If you are working 80% or less of a full time contract you can claim an additional 25% discount on the annual new Member fee of £480.00. This will mean an annual subscription of £360.00.

Please note: You must apply for this additional discount directly with the Membership Team, in writing, at membership@rcog.org.uk. To qualify, the Membership Team must receive your application for  the discount no later than 31 March in the subscription year. For example, to qualify for the 2020 annual subscription year we must receive your request by 31 March 2020. After this date you will be charged the annual new member fee of £480.00.
