What if my current name is different from the name in my degree certificate or any previous registration?

When attend the exam, please take the evidence of your previous name (e.g. degree or GMC registration certificate) and your new name (i.e. your photo I.D.) or the evidence that can verify your name change (e.g. marriage certificate).

 

Can I choose where I want to sit the DRCOG?

Yes, you can indicate a preferred centre. However, while the College will try to honour your preference, we reserve the right to allocate candidates to exam centres. You can’t request or change your centre preference after the closing date for the exam.

 

What kind of medical council registration do I need to enter the DRCOG exam?

At the time of application you must have full, limited or provisional registration with either the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) or the Medical Council of Ireland (MCI).

 

Can I withdraw from my exam?

Candidates can withdraw their applications and be refunded before the closing date of exam application.

If you wish to withdraw from the exam after the exam application closed, please reference our Extenuating circumstances policy.

 

I’ve misplaced my issued certificate. Can it be replaced?

Yes, we can post a replacement certificate to you. Please send an email to exams@rcog.org.uk providing your full name, college number, the exam you have passed, and a brief statement on the reasons why you request a replacement certificate. This service is charged.

 

Does the DRCOG fee include the registration fee for Diplomate status?

Yes. The Diploma certificate will be issued to successful candidates in the DRCOG exam.

 

If I fail the DRCOG, will the registration fee be refunded?

No.

 

How many times may I attempt the DRCOG?

You may attempt the DRCOG a maximum of 5 times.

 

Do I need to have completed a specific period of training to sit the DRCOG exam or become a Diplomate?

No, there is no training requirement for the DRCOG exam or postnominals.
