Maternity Emergencies update training package

This Maternity Emergencies Update training package, a collection of resources curated by Cathy Winter and Tim Draycott, can be used as a short update for maternity staff (medical and midwifery) who are new to the maternity unit or have been recently redeployed to a different maternity clinical area.

Based on the most recent national guidelines, there is also specific COVID-19 guidance, which includes links to national guidance where maternity staff can find the most up to date advice.

The PowerPoint presentations are intended to be adapted for local unit use so that local guidance is included too. The presentations can be used on a ‘pick & mix’ basis and may also be useful as short individual ‘trolley training’ sessions which can be run in the clinical areas.

This content is available to Members and Fellows only.

Ideally small multi-professional groups including midwives, obstetricians (including gynaecologists returning to obstetrics) and anaesthetists.

The course will need to be led by a midwife, an obstetrician and also an anaesthetist, if possible.
