The new team of Vice Presidents will take office with President Elect Dr Alison Wright in December 2025.
Five new Vice Presidents have been elected following a ballot by eligible RCOG Council members on Friday 12 September 2025:

- Andrew Leather
- Melanie Tipples
Dr Alison Wright, President-Elect of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said:
“Heartfelt congratulations to my new team of elected Vice Presidents, who I know will bring energy, optimism and strong compassionate leadership to the College, as we tackle the current challenges.
“Our College has a vital mission to improve the health of women and girls in the UK and globally, and I am confident that together, by listening, engaging and working closely with all of our highly valued Members and Fellows, we will achieve this."
The Vice Presidents will take up their appointments alongside President-Elect Dr Alison Wright at a ceremony on Friday 12 December 2025. The Vice Presidents will support the new President in ensuring that the College’s long-term priorities and goals are firmly aligned with its core mission: to advance the O&G specialty and champion women’s health.
Each Vice President provides clinical leadership for their own individual portfolio. Officer portfolios and individual responsibilities are discussed and agreed with Council and the President-Elect, and vary depending on the College’s current priorities. The portfolios and remit of the Vice Presidents will be agreed by Council ahead of the RCOG Council meeting on 12 December 2025.

Dr Alison Wright was made President-elect of the RCOG following a vote open to UK and Ireland Fellows and Members. Alison will become the 33rd President since the College was founded in 1929. The term of office for the RCOG President and Vice Presidents is three years.
Over a three-year term, the Vice Presidents will support the College to achieve its ambitious five-year strategy, work with beneficiaries in the UK and globally, and deliver its strategic goals for 2025-30. The Vice Presidents are senior Officers of the RCOG Council and occupy an honorary role within the College’s leadership. They are ambassadors for the global community of obstetricians and gynaecologists and professional leaders within the specialty. Working alongside the President, the Vice Presidents contribute their personal and professional expertise to help maintain the College’s standards of clinical excellence.
