The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and PROGEN (Persatuan Obstetrik & Ginekologi Nasional MOH Malaysia) are proud to be entering a new partnership to deliver a structured obstetrics and gynaecology training programme, supported by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia.
Set to begin in July 2026, the five-year programme will support up to 250 Malaysian O&G doctors, under the Parallel Pathway initiative. The aim of the collaboration is to enhance the training of doctors working in women’s health, increasing the number of O&G specialists and improving care for women and girls in Malaysia.
Delivered through RCOG Centres of Excellence, the training will align with UK standards using the RCOG Curriculum, MRCOG examinations and RCOG Training ePortfolio. Participants will also have access to the Training Evaluation Form (TEF) survey and the annual review of competence progression (ARCP) process.

Parallel Pathway is a set of training programmes by the Ministry of Health Malaysia for medical specialties in collaboration with the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and local medical associations, namely PROGEN.
The RCOG has a long-standing relationship with Malaysia, dating back to 1948, and is proud to now have 608 Malaysian Fellows, Members, and Associates. In 2023, the RCOG held our first membership ceremony and established a MRCOG Part 3 examination centre in Malaysia. The RCOG has also selected Malaysia to host the 2027 World Congress.
