Who we are
The British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (BritSPAG) was established in 2000 to promote the profile and study of, and clinical approaches to, paediatric and adolescent gynaecology and provide a multidisciplinary forum for discussion, education and training.
We welcome professionals from all healthcare areas with an interest in children, adolescents and adults with developmental or acquired disorders of the genital tract.
What we do
The Society is active in interacting with other national and international societies committed to paediatric and adolescent gynaecology. We have established a UK-wide network of professionals with an interest in the area to encourage communication, collaboration and support.
The Society is proud of its broad-based membership and recognises the valuable and unique contribution that different practitioners offer. We currently have members from the medical (including endocrinologists, forensic specialists, family planning physicians, geneticists, genitourinary physicians, obstetricians and gynaecologists, paediatricians, paediatric surgeons, physicians, plastic surgeons, psychiatrists and urologists), psychological and nursing professions.
How we do this
The Society holds an annual clinical meeting to encourage and disseminate research, and educates and promotes learning by way of an annual training day.
Our website acts as a resource for interested clinicians and also provides information leaflets available for download, along with updates on research and current guidelines.
Our UK Map of Services provides a link between clinicians offering care to children and adolescents.
The Society welcomes new members, with full details of membership available on the website or by contacting the Chair or Secretary.
