MRCOG Part 1 exam: Eligibility application form

Before you begin:

I have previously sat an MRCOG exam (Part 1, 2 or 3):

In order to sit the MRCOG Part 1 exam, you must submit your Part 1 Eligibility application by the appropriate deadline. Key deadline dates can be found here.

Here's what you'll need to get ready:

Before you start your application, make sure you have the following items ready to ensure a smooth process.

1. Your RCOG College account number

2. Your General Medical Registration Number

3. A scanned copy of your government-issued ID:

  • The name on your ID must match your medical degree certificate or medical registration certificate.
    • If the names are different, you will need to upload an authorised continuity of your name change such as a marriage certificate or legal document confirming the name change.
  • Examples of government-issued ID:
    • Driver's license
    • Passport
    • Original birth certificate

4. A scan or photo of your original primary medical degree certificate
OR
A scan or photo of your medical registration certificate, provided it states your primary medical degree and university.

Documents need to meet the following requirements:

  • The documents must be in English,
    • If your original primary medical degree certificate or medical registration certificate are not english you must submit an authorised translation
  • The documents are legible,
  • The scan or photo is taken from the original document (we cannot accept scans of photocopies),
  • The person certifying confirms (in English) by signing and dating the document that it is a true copy of the original,
  • The person certifying is either a Notary Public, Commissioner of Oaths, Justice of the Peace or another person entitled to practise law, or an authorised officer of an embassy or consulate,
  • The name, signature and address of the person certifying is shown on the copy,
  • The person certifying is not a relative of yours.
  • The applicant cannot certify documents themselves.

Processing time

Applications will be assessed after the eligibility close date, a minimum of 4 weeks is required to process applications.

Applications submitted less than 4 weeks before the proposed period may not be approved in time, please check eligibility deadlines here.
