Subscription fees for retired Fellows and Members

If you’ve retired from all forms of medical practice (including medico-legal work) in both private and public hospitals, and inform the College by 31 January, you’ll no longer be required to pay an annual subscription for subsequent years – although all outstanding arrears must be settled in full.

Please make your request in writing by email to We will then send you a ‘cessation declaration form’ to complete for our records.

As a retired Fellow or Member, you’ll continue to receive the RCOG membership magazine (O&G) and the monthly e-newsletter (O&G News), Council election notices and dinner notices (British Isles residents only). If you wish to continue to receive other material, an additional fee will be required as follows:

  • £39 per annum to receive TOG (The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist)
  • £63 per annum (UK rate) to receive BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (for international rates, please visit our partner publisher Wiley’s website)

50% discount on RCOG courses

Retired RCOG Fellows and Members are entitled to a 50% discount on the RCOG member rate registration fee. You will need to state that you are retired at the time of booking.

To qualify for the discount you must be registered as retired with the RCOG and will need to book your place on the course over the phone on +44 20 7772 6245 or by post. If you need to update your status, please email
