RCOG Learning

26 Sept 2022

The College is excited to announce that RCOG Learning, our new world-class digital education platform, is now online.

This marks the achievement of another ambitious and important milestone in the College’s digital transformation programme, following the successful launch of the College’s website and the digitisation of exams and events.

The College has partnered with market leader D2L (Desire to Learn) to bring you this new site, which provides an upgraded, intuitive and innovative design, amplifying its impactful education content. This will enable the RCOG to achieve its ambition of becoming the ‘go-to’ place for online educational resources relating to women’s healthcare, supporting its members and the O&G community to grow in their depth of knowledge, and furthering the College’s mission to improve the health of women and girls worldwide.

This initiative is part of the College’s global plans to expand its educational offering, delivering a valuable learning platform that has been designed with the long-term benefit of all users in mind, in the UK and internationally.

The new site has launched with the most accessed and highly-valued digital content initially and then more diverse content and learning activities will be added to provide an enhanced and flexible learning experience, compatible with all devices for ‘on the go’ access.

Peer-to-peer discussion forums, TOG journal access and packaged learning on key topics are just some of the expanded functionalities and features of RCOG Learning that the College hopes to bring to you over the coming year.

The College will shortly be recruiting Fellow, Member and Trainee volunteers to guide and shape this next stage of exciting work and ensure it is providing valuable lifelong learning opportunities, so please look out for more information regarding how to get involved with this.

The College looks forward to welcoming you to RCOG Learning in the upcoming weeks and months. You will not need to re-register as your current log-in details will remain the same. Please note: if you have not accessed eLearning since Saturday 1 January 2022, you will be required to reactivate your account on the new RCOG Learning site.

Please email elearning@rcog.org.uk if you have any queries that are not answered in the FAQs below:

FAQs

Who should I contact if I need further support with using the platform?

The RCOG Learning team are on hand to support you as you familiarise yourself with the new platform. For the fastest response please email the Learning helpdesk on: elearning@rcog.org.uk or call: +44 (0)20 7772 6269. Support is available from 08.30 to 17.00 (UK time) Monday to Friday.

Do I need different log-in details for the new platform?

No. Your RCOG Learning username and password are the same as your log-in details for the RCOG website and the old eLearning platform.

How do I change my log-in details?

These details must be changed via the ‘My details’ page on the RCOG website. It is not possible to change your sign in details on the RCOG Learning platform. This is to ensure that any changes you make to your account can be applied across all of the RCOG's platforms.

What happens if I forget my password?

If you don’t know your password you should click on the ‘forgot password’ link on the log-in page, where you will be given the option to reset your password.

How long will it take to reactivate my account if I haven’t used the existing eLearning site recently?

If you haven’t accessed your existing eLearning account since Saturday 1 January 2022, then you will be required to reactivate your account as an ongoing user. This request will be actioned within five working days wherever possible.

Will my learning history from the old site be transferred across to the new Learning platform?

Yes, your course completion certificates will be transferred over, although there may be a delay of several weeks or more following the launch of the new platform until this takes place. Completed courses will be listed in the Learning History transcript with the completion date of the day that the migration of data from the old site takes place. Completion certificates will also be available for all courses that were completed on the old site.

How do I access my completion certificates?

You can view the certificates you've earned in the My Awards tool, which can be accessed by clicking on 'Awards' link on the home page navigation bar. Access a summary of all learning completed by clicking on the 'Learning History' link on the same navigation bar.

Why can't I see all of the content that I previously had access to on the old eLearning platform?

Transferring over 11,000 pages of content to the new platform is a huge undertaking for the RCOG Learning team. Due to the large volume of content which needs to be transferred to the new platform, it has been agreed that content can be transferred across in two phases.

Will my purchases from the old eLearning platform be available on the new site?

Yes, access will automatically be granted to all courses that you previously purchased on the old RCOG eLearning platform providing that the access period is still valid. Please accept our apologies if there is a short period of disruption to this access as the old site is switched off and your purchase history is migrated in to the new platform. If you are unable to access any of your purchased resources by the end of December 2022 please contact the eLearning team on elearning@rcog.org.uk.
