Supporting our doctors: refreshed resources and guidance

30 Jun 2026

Supporting the O&G workforce is central to the RCOG's mission - ensuring doctors are best placed to deliver safe, compassionate care for women and people.

We've reorganised the Supporting our doctors section to bring together practical support, wellbeing resources and guidance for difficult professional situations. There's also guidance for doctors responding to an investigation, or recovering after a difficult event at work.

Recent updates to the section include:

Race equity in the workforce

Tools, guidance and training to support inclusive, equitable practice in O&G. You'll find resources on differential attainment and workplace discrimination, and examples of good practice from colleagues across the specialty.

Workplace Behaviour Champions

The Workplace Behaviour Champions promote positive workplace behaviours and offer guidance on workplace conduct to trainees, early career SAS doctors and LE doctors in O&G. The Champions are supported by Workplace Behaviour Advisors Ganga Verma and Susie Crowe. You can find additional support for addressing poor workplace behaviours in the Workplace Behaviour Toolkit. Find your local Workplace Behaviour Champion.

Wellbeing resources hub

If you are struggling, help is always available. Please talk to a friend, relative, colleague or supervisor. The wellbeing resources hub signposts key contacts and other sources of support if you are experiencing personal or professional difficulties.

Peer support

A confidential listening space to talk through challenges with a peer working in O&G. Peer Supporters can signpost you to additional sources of support, workplace behaviour guidance and resources where appropriate.
