Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between RCOG and JSOG to develop shared goals towards the betterment of women’s health in the UK and Japan.
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (JSOG), to collaborate together to ensure exceptional patient care for women and girls globally.
In order to accomplish this mission, RCOG and JSOG will work together to identify key priority areas for collaboration over the next three years.
Across the duration of the MOU, RCOG and JSOG will share clinical best practice, educational resources, training courses and each other’s global health network to improve the health of women and girls across the globe. JSOG will also be represented at the RCOG World Congress 2022, and RCOG at the JSOG Congress in 2023.
Dr Edward Morris, President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said:
“This agreement between RCOG and JSOG is an opportunity for both organisations to work together to improve women’s healthcare across the world. Since our initial meeting with JSOG at the RCOG World Congress 2019 in London, we have been seeking to find ways to collaborate. This is an excellent opportunity to formalise our partnership with JSOG and share learnings and best practices between the two organisations.
“We recently met with JSOG board members to discuss our partnership, where we were also able to discuss the response to the COVID pandemic in both countries. This MOU will enable further opportunities for collaboration around important topics such as this, as well as providing a platform for discussion on how to deliver the best patient care for women and girls globally.”
