Appointment process for RCOG Liaison Group (LG) Chairs

A new process for appointing LG Chairs has been introduced in 2025:

• RCOG LG Chairs are appointed through a formal, open, and transparent recruitment process and in line with the College Volunteer Management Policy.
• The initial notification of appointments for RCOG LG Chair positions is announced on the RCOG website and shared directly to all active Fellows and Members resident in the UK via email.
• The application process requires completion of an application form which includes a declaration of interests, a supporting statement and a CV. The application needs to be submitted by the agreed deadline within three weeks of the opening advertisement.
• Applicants are shortlisted based on an assessment of their skills and expertise against the person specification in the role description. Shortlisted candidates are invited for interview with the Chief Executive, the Vice President for Global Health and the International Council Representative for the region.
• Following an appointment, an induction meeting is held to support the onboarding of the new Chair and includes information on the RCOG strategy, College policies and processes.  
• The LG Chair is invited to regular meetings with the aligned International Representative Committee Chair where relevant.
• The term of appointment is three years.

Appointment process for LG Committee members

• RCOG LG Committee members are appointed through a formal, open, and transparent recruitment process and in line with the College Volunteer Management Policy.
• The initial notification of appointments for RCOG LG Committee positions is announced on the RCOG website and shared directly to all active Fellows and Members resident in the UK via email.
• The appointment of LG Committee positions is managed in collaboration between the College and the LG Chair.
• The term of appointment is three years.
