Bookings for DRCOG exams are only open for a certain period of time
Please check the Book an exam page for full timelines and deadlines when exam applications are open.
Creating an RCOG account
If you already have an account with the RCOG website, you must use details for that account. Please do not create another account.
- Please read the instructions carefully and complete the form correctly.
- When registering with the website, please enter "Dr" under Title.
- Your name must match the name on your degree certificate. Please enter your first name (given name) and your last name (family name) the same way.
- When you have created your account, make a note of your RCOG College account number (6 digits), shown on your "My Account" page.
Requirements
To take the DRCOG exam, you must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) or the Medical Council of Ireland (MCI).
Before booking the exam, you must ensure your GMC/MCI number is entered in your account under "My Details".
Full requirements for the exam are under DRCOG Regulations.
Submitting an Expression Of Interest
Candidates interested in sitting the DRCOG exam must first complete an Expression Of Interest (EOI) within the required deadline. Please check the DRCOG dates and venues page for details on timelines and deadlines.
Your RCOG College account number is a required field when completing the EOI form. If you don’t already have an account with the RCOG, first please create an RCOG account as described above.
Only candidates who have submitted an Expression Of Interest form within the deadline will be provided with an opportunity to book onto the next exam.
Booking a place on the DRCOG exam
Candidates who have submitted an Expression Of Interest form within the EOI deadline will be provided with a booking token for an opportunity to book into available spaces.
Candidates will be provided with the option to either book into the UK or Republic of Ireland during this first stage of the booking process.
A booking token does not guarantee a place on the next exam. Candidates who receive a booking token will have an opportunity to book a place on the exam when the booking window opens.
Booking a centre via Pearson VUE
All candidates who have successfully booked a place on the exam will then be contacted to schedule a place into one of Pearson VUE’s test centres.
There are 137 Pearson VUE test centres across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Full dates and timeframes of each exam are available on the DRCOG dates and venues page.
For further information on computer-based testing please visit our New Exams IT System page.
