Join the RCOG Trainees' Register

Register with us to access your specialism training in O&G. Find details of the subscription process and Trainee membership benefits below.

For UK candidates appointed to our training programme, subscribing to the RCOG Trainees’ Register is a mandatory requirement. You’ll need to renew this membership each year until you’ve passed your final MRCOG exam (Part 3). At this point, you’ll be eligible to register as a Member and will have access to the full range of membership benefits.

ePortfolio

Newly appointed trainees will have access to the RCOG ePortfolio to record evidence of meetings, assessments and achievements throughout training.  The ePortfolio is also the electronic logbook for training.

RCOG eLearning

RCOG elearning supports clinical training in obstetrics and gynaecology and contains 97 core knowledge tutorials which support the core and advanced curriculums.

Access to The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (TOG) is an editorially independent, quarterly journal for continuing professional development, owned and published by the RCOG. Trainees on the Trainees’ Register will receive full online access to TOG, further details are available here.

Trainees’ Committee

The College has a Trainees’ Committee to represent those undertaking training in obstetrics and gynaecology in the UK.  By subscribing to the Trainees’ Register you will be kept informed of this committee’s activities and you will be entitled to vote for your regional representatives.

The annual subscription fee for UK Trainees is £151. This includes the licence fee the RCOG pays to the Training ePortfolio providers for service provision and ongoing support.

£98 per annum without ePortfolio access.

The subscription is valid for a 12-month period from when we process the payment. We will email you near the end of that period to remind you that your subscription is due for renewal.

International Trainees and international exam candidates residing outside of the UK, including trainees in the Republic of Ireland are not eligible to join the Trainees’ Register, but it is strongly recommended that you become an RCOG Associate.

This membership provides you with tools to keep your O&G skills up-to-date, advance your career development and deliver the highest standards of care to your patients.

If you have any questions about RCOG Associate membership, please email the membership team or call +44 20 7772 6303.

It may take up to 2 weeks for your application to join the Trainees’ Register to be approved and your payment processed.

You will not receive access to the benefits of the Trainees’ Register, e.g. TOG and RCOG eLearning, until your application has been completed.

Becoming an RCOG Associate is the first level of professional membership of the RCOG for doctors that provides you with the tools and resources to keep your O&G knowledge and skills up-to-date, advance your career development and deliver the highest standards of care to your patients.

As an Associate, you’ll have access to a pathway towards full RCOG Membership for those who choose that option.  For those who decide not to take the MRCOG examination, you’ll continue to have access to the information and resources you need to develop your skills and expertise in women's healthcare whilst being part of a global network of experienced O&G practitioners.

Read our FAQs to understand in more detail why we’re making this change and what it means for you.
